EInk technology is developing rapidly. More and more colors can be displayed in ever larger modules. Advanced Color EPapers can display the entire color gamut.
In the future, advertising posters will no longer have to be replaced manually, but will be re-recorded. In the long term, this approach saves resources by reducing paper consumption and working time, as advertising boards in stores can be covered centrally and local employees do not have to worry about this.
Existing disadvantages of the technology are the limited temperature range - only usable indoors, and the long refresh time. TFTs are much better suited for short-term changing displays.
