Variety of Technologies Available
The classic passive LCD is a TN cell, characterized by a greenish background and grey-black segments. However, this technology has significantly evolved. Today's displays offer a white background, extending to a perfect black-and-white contrast. While early displays were primarily segment displays, matrix displays now dominate. Each technology possesses its unique strengths. We would be pleased to advise you on which is best suited for your project.
Fully Customizable
Passive LCDs offer high flexibility, with color options available through back-printing or RGB backlighting. Our smallest LCD, with a half-inch screen diagonal, is compact enough for integration into a key-sized device. Through particularly power-efficient drivers, low-power LCD solutions can be implemented, for instance, in ATEX-certified environments. To fully leverage the capabilities of passive LCDs, all our monochrome liquid crystal displays are completely customizable, from the glass substrate to the backlighting.
