E-paper displays are extremely energy-efficient, suitable for use in sunlight, and easy on the eyes. They are particularly suitable for applications with static or rarely changing content. However, compared to TFT displays, they are slower and only suitable for animations to a limited extent.

However, it should be noted that graphic displays are based on TFT technology and therefore require very high initial investments for customer-specific cell sizes and large purchase quantities in series production.
