Impact of the energy crisis on display procurement

"How does the energy crisis or gas price affect display production?"

We have been receiving these or similar questions from customers and interested parties lately. After the general shortage of components and raw materials has driven up prices, many are expecting the next price jump.

However, this is not the case. While the component shortage still has us in its grip, the energy crisis is having a comparatively minor impact on our ability to deliver.

Why is that?

Displays in general are almost 100% manufactured in Asia. Energy prices in Asia have not developed in such an extreme way as the gas-dependent supply here. China, for example, obtains the raw materials for energy supply to a good extent in the country and is therefore more independent of developments in the world market.

Of course, we are also feeling certain effects, transport prices have increased and components from non-Asian production have also risen further in price.

In general, however, the supply of displays is possible at currently stable prices. Procurement times and costs tend to remain constant or decline slightly.

As a company, we also invested in a modern building infrastructure with a heat pump and PV system at an early stage, so that our energy supply is also secure.
