Completing Product Design Prior to TFT Selection

The product is fully designed, and only at the culmination of the planning phase is a suitable TFT sought. This often necessitates the use of custom sizes, which are more prone to obsolescence and challenging to source. We consistently recommend utilizing standard display sizes and integrating display selection at the outset of the design phase.

Insufficient Product Adaptability to Alternative TFTs

Some clearance should remain between the housing and the TFT. The mounting and software should be designed for flexibility. In the event of a TFT's obsolescence, switching to an alternative product becomes easier, as modules, despite having the same nominal size (e.g., 2.4″), may vary slightly in their external dimensions. The possibility of adapting the voltage range and software should also be considered during the design phase.

Static Image Display and Lack of TFT Shutdown Capability

TFTs are susceptible to burn-in. For aesthetic or functional reasons, displays are often kept continuously active, ensuring immediate visibility of information. However, we strongly advise implementing a screensaver or a proximity sensor for intermittent TFT deactivation to mitigate potential degradation.

Utilization of Gray or Pastel Tones in GUI Design

Subtle color palettes are currently trending and are frequently incorporated into GUI designs. However, if the TFT exhibits minor burn-in effects, these become most pronounced with lighter shades. Consequently, we recommend employing more vibrant colors.

Suboptimal Integration of the Display Front Panel

Depending on how the TFT is integrated, different challenges arise. For instance, dirt edges or air gaps can form, negatively impacting electromagnetic compatibility. Furthermore, bezels should not be placed too close to the active area, as slight deviations in parallelism would otherwise become directly visible.
