For some time now, we have been thinking about how we can improve our CO2 balance. Primarily responsible for this are our transports from Asia, which until now often came by air freight.
The reduction in flight capacities between Asia and Europe due to the Corona virus has now led to a drastic increase in air freight rates. Many of our customers are therefore now opting for rail or sea freight at the cost of longer transport times.
This development will enable us to reduce the amount of CO2 generated by transportation by about one third in 2020.
Such shipments often require minimum volumes, which we regularly achieve by continuously increasing our imports.
We would also be happy to switch your shipments to a CO2-saving transport alternative!
