The operation of TFT displays via touchscreen is now widespread. Less well known is gesture control, which enables electronic devices to be controlled using body movements, in particular hand and finger movements.
The technology works by using sensors and cameras that detect the user's movements and convert them into commands.
This allows appliances to be operated without contact, e.g. via wiping movements. Especially in areas with frequent use or where particular emphasis is placed on hygiene, touchless control is an added value. Operating elements do not have to be touched by everyone and bacteria and viruses are not spread.
