Object and Liquid Detection
While the sensitivity of capacitive touchscreens is a strength, it is also their vulnerability: liquids or objects placed on the touch surface can lead to false triggers, which can be critical for safety-relevant functions. Challenges also arise when operation with a wet touch surface or with thick gloves is required. In such cases, the software must be precisely calibrated to differentiate between intended and unintended inputs. Smart TFT with Integrated Brightness Sensor
Everyone is familiar with brightness sensors from their own smartphones. However, integrating a brightness sensor can also be beneficial in other power-saving applications. For instance, the display can be dimmed or switched off in dark environments or when covered. This not only conserves energy but also extends the lifespan of the device. In our reference product, the sensor was utilized to activate the display only when the product was open.
