The susceptibility of LCD modules to interference is regularly an important issue in the design of products. Many of our customers manufacture safety-relevant devices where the proper functioning of the display elements is essential.
We therefore use various ways to protect our displays from interference. We list some examples below. Depending on the product, further means can be used. We will be happy to advise you on this in detail and work out a customer-specific solution.
1. COG or TCP module with connection via FPC: Use of a shielded FPC.
2. connection of TFTs with high data rate: change from TTL RGB to a differential signal like LVDS, HDMI, MIPI
3. use of a ring electrode, also as ESD protection measure in the (COG/TCP) display.
4. displays with (SPI or) I2C interface: software adaptations, use of our interface adapted for these purposes.
5. software: adjustments in initialization can help to mitigate EMC influences
