Paper substitute
As the name suggests, e-paper is ideally suited as a paper substitute. This means for displays that are rarely changed and show the same image for a long time, ideally at room temperature. The best-known example is probably the electronic shelf labels that display prices in every supermarket today. E-paper matrix displays are based on TFT technology, which means that customer-specific formats are only possible with high quantities and initial costs. However, segment displays are also available for smaller minimum quantities on a fully customized basis. All components such as connectors, front glass, lighting or front glass are always customizable.
Full-color e-paper and wide temperature range
The latest development in the field of e-paper is full-color displays. These are currently only available in some large formats, while the smaller screen diagonals generally only support two or three colors. However, this still young technology is developing rapidly, so that new models are constantly coming onto the market. Fast image changes and other temperature limits are now also possible, although the intended use must be carefully examined.
