By establishing its own company in Jintan, near Changzhou, LCD Mikroelektronik is further expanding its international presence. The goal is to provide even better support to its global customers in the future—from developing the optimal display solution to supplying their production sites in China and Asia.
On September 9, 2026, LCD Mikroelektronik signed an agreement to establish its own subsidiary in Jintan during a joint signing ceremony with the Sino-German Innovation Park (SGIP).
After about 30 years of collaboration with Chinese companies, the company is now taking the next step and establishing its own permanent presence in China for the first time.

Closer to our globally based customers
Many of our customers develop their products in Germany or Europe but manufacture them at various locations around the world—including in China and other parts of Asia.
This is exactly where our new website comes in.
LCD Mikroelektronik sees itself not only as a supplier of displays, but also as a design house for custom display solutions. Together with our customers, we develop the optimal solution for each specific application—from selecting the appropriate display technology to making mechanical and electronic adjustments, all the way through to integration into the final product.
We intend to continue this development work in close collaboration with our customers. At the same time, our presence in China enables us to provide even better support to internationally operating companies across their entire supply and production structures.
Development at the Customer's Site – Proximity to Production in China
For example, a product may be developed in Germany and then manufactured in China. For our customers, this has often meant long distances between the development team, the display manufacturer, and the production site.
By establishing our own presence in China, we aim to shorten these processes.
We can operate closer to our customers’ production sites, facilitate on-site coordination, and at the same time work more closely with our existing supply chains. We expect this to result in shorter response times, more efficient processes, and, in the long run, faster deliveries to international production sites.
This ensures that our customers continue to enjoy a key advantage: they receive a display solution developed in collaboration with an experienced German design firm—combined with a local presence right where some of their products are actually manufactured.
Jintan as a Bridge Between Two Worlds
With Jintan in Changzhou, we have chosen a location that aligns very well with this strategy. Its location in the economically robust Greater Shanghai area brings us closer to numerous existing partners, supply chains, and international companies.
With the Sino-German Innovation Park, we have also found an environment that is specifically designed to attract and support German companies and that is assisting us in establishing our new company.
For a medium-sized company, this support is a key factor in establishing its own presence in China efficiently and with manageable structures.
We're starting small—and thinking long-term
For LCD Mikroelektronik, the new company is not an end in itself. It is intended to complement our existing strategy: to develop custom display solutions and support our customers wherever they need us.
As our customers become increasingly international, our own organization must also continue to evolve.
“We’re starting small, but we’re thinking long-term. Our goal is to combine the close relationship a German design house has with its customers with a stronger presence in international supply chains and production sites.”
With Jintan, we are laying a new foundation for this, and we look forward to continuing to develop this location together with our customers and partners in the coming years.
