As a supplier to renowned medical and laboratory technology companies, we are proud that our products contribute to combating the current COVID-19 pandemic. Among other applications, displays from LCD Mikroelektronik are integrated into COVID-19 rapid testers, intensive care pumps, and pipettes.
Displays featuring capacitive touch and a front glass are particularly well-suited for medical applications due to their excellent cleanability. The touch functionality remains operable even with gloves, and false activations, for instance from liquid contact, can be prevented via software. Concurrently, the shape of the front glass is freely customizable and can be individually printed, for example, with a company logo.
As LCDs are produced almost exclusively in Asia, minor supply bottlenecks occurred at the beginning of the year, but these have since been fully resolved. The only current impediment is the limited air freight transport capacity. We advise all customers to place orders early to enable us to select alternative transport routes (sea/rail freight) and avoid high freight surcharges.
