Impact of the Energy Crisis on Display Procurement

„How does the energy crisis or gas price affect display production?“

We have recently received these or similar questions from customers and prospective clients. Following the general scarcity of components and raw materials that drove prices upward, many anticipate the next price surge.

However, this is not the case. While component scarcity continues to affect us, the energy crisis has a comparatively minor impact on our delivery capability.

Why is this the case?

Displays, in general, are almost 100% manufactured in Asia. Energy prices in Asia have not developed as extremely as the gas-dependent supply in our region. China, for example, sources a significant portion of its energy raw materials domestically, making it less dependent on global market developments.

Naturally, we also experience certain effects; transport costs have increased, and prices for components from non-Asian production have also continued to rise.

Generally, however, the supply of displays is possible at currently stable prices. Procurement times and costs tend to remain constant or slightly decrease.

As a company, we also invested early in modern building infrastructure, including a heat pump and PV system, thus ensuring our energy supply.
